A Control Panel for a Schaublin 70
Motor is irrc 380, and I have 120 and 240 single phase in the room.
I spotted on kijiji a 120 = 400V autotransformer, perfect!
single phase comes in and is turned on via a contractor and latching panel switches. This is important and what it means is that if the machine is running and there is a power failure, power is turned off. When the power comes on, the machine won’t start until the green power button is pressed again
I had had the transform and VFD temporarily rigged sitting on a shelf for too many years – time for safe and permanent solution.

After power is turned on, its into a VFD for conversion to 3P and controlling spindle on/off, direction and speed
I also added a wallwart putting out 12V and some cooling fans. One blowing in, one out. The fans only come on when the power is on.
I wanted to add a power lamp on the panel but didn’t have one in stock and wanted move forward on the project. Not a big deal to add is feel so compelled (don’t bet on it lol)

The labels where printed with my Bambu printer with ASM – what an upgrade over the Prusa !!!

Everything install!

And the lathe is back to running
